I have no experience with this brand but I was after a hammer drill and came across this. Extremely cheap, hopefully the price doesn't speak for the quality.

Delivering 1500W of power and torque, this hammer drill is perfect for all your DIY projects and drilling jobs. With 6 speed settings, 360 degree adjustable auxiliary handle, overload safety clutch and combined hammer and drill modes this hammer drill is a great choice for both the amateur and professional handyman alike.

if ripping up tiles, the $80 ozito hammer drill is damn good and reliable

    http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-850w-rotary-hammer-drill-ki…

    • Bought that ozito for exactly that purpose, used it a bunch more times since for heavy duty drilling, hasn't let me down yet.

  • yeh, some of the cheap hammer drills don't have chisel only mode (the bit always rotates) which is not useful for breaking or lifting tasks at all. so watch out with this one. the ozito has this function.

    • I can confirm the Haydon has 3 modes; drill, hammer + drill, and chisel (no rotation).

  • Buying a cheap hammer drill is a bad idea unless you buy it from a physical store that you can return it to. If you're ripping up tiles you will probably go through a few el cheapo hammer drills.
