Hey all
Managed to score the BigW $198 Wii bundle. Price was right :-)
I know most of the Nintendo 1st party games are pretty polished but I was interested in what 3rd party has to offer.
So far the two 3rd party games that I’m looking at are
I have heard that the Wii U versions of these games are the definitive editions and I didn’t play either on my PS3
Anything else I should check out??

You can get zombie U for $15 on the eshop.
As someone who had it for a very brief amount of time, I probably wouldn't worry about ZombiU. Even the measly $10 is better spent elsewhere, especially considering steam sale is on currently :D
Wonderful 101. The most refreshing, new concept, tongue in cheek game you'll ever play. Even if the camera is a dick and you won't get used to the controls until 20 hours in. It's in the free game deal with Mariokart. Oh, yeah, Mariokart. $58 and you get 2 games. Not too shabby. It was paid for and the idea originated with Nintendo, so it's NOT TECHNICALLY 3rd party, but it was developed by Platinum Games.
If you haven't played Monster Hunter 3 yet, $36 at EB; the demo doesn't do it justice. Super Mario 3D World is also amazing; but it unfortunately has a very slow difficulty curve.
As for 3rd party games. Well. There are none here lol. The ones available are decidedly boring when put along Nintendo first party titles.
Recommended game list in order of my personal preference:
Wonderful 101
Monster Hunter
Mariokart
Super Mario 3D World
Pikmin 3
Donkey Kong (Dixie breaks the game and you'll never use Cranky, thus getting it a lower spot in this list)
Zelda Wind Waker HD (Put this 4-5 spots higher if you haven't played the original)
Now to just wait for Splatoon, Smash Brothers, and inevitably…. Star Fox made by Retro <3
If they make a new StarFox I'll be a happy man. It got me to buy the 3DS (as well as LoZ OoT) I was a contestant on a TV show called Games Master in the UK when I was 10 and that was the game I had to play in the interview (they had a Jap Super Famicom with Star Fox which hadn't been released in The West at the time) Loved it ever since :)

I hear good things about the Lego games, have Lego City Undercovered, but its a bit slow for my taste, however, its not bad.
Marvel Lego has a terrible frame rate, at least in multiplayer which is a shame because the second screen option is great for when my kids play and they don't want to stay together or split the screen in half.
Which makes the Mariokart 8 decision of being unable to change the splitscreen properties or even use the screen as its own screen a very, very weird option. No options at all, guys? Vertical only? Hm. This was a strange move.
BUT YES! Star Fox already confirmed! Nintendo is aiming for a release late 2015! But they also said "To make a game in one year will be an immense undertaking; we will likely seek help outside the company from an external developer." Which TOTALLY means they're going to get Metroid Prime Greats Retro Studios to do it, which is one of the things I predicted for E3.
I also predicted Nintendo would announce a Wii-U exclusive Megaman game, because apparently I'm an idiot and actually believed that!

All of these games are AMAZING… Its funny if im honest with myself the wii u is the best console i own with so many outstanding games its hard to beat!
That said its the multiplayer experiences on my PS4 that i spend the most time with.

I bought a couple of retro games this week. Super Punch Out and Super Mario World. I've played so many hours of these as a kid. Love em.
Rayman legends , personally better than mario . Great game
+1 for Rayman Legends. Hands down the best platformer I've ever played. At the current $18 price it's an absolute steal.
There is a wealth of content in it and as you play you unlock levels from the previous Rayamn Origins game.
For a free taste, hit up the Nintendo e-shop and download the free Rayman Challenges app.
You'll be able to compete in the daily challenges built into the game and play through 3 levels of the game.
MK8 is worth the price for the free D/L you get with it. I grabbed Pikmin 3 as my choice. Don't regret it.
Lastly, I've seen Need For Speed: Most Wanted on sale at Target for $23.
Be sure to check the scanner as it might not be labeled as such.

Its a great game and there is a decent number of players on here who would be able to help you with it.
It is great but you have to remember two things.
Not everyone likes the genre.
It has a steep learning curve.
i already have it on 3ds but would prob prefer the nicer graphics on wii u. Cant bring myself to buy it on the wii u when i already have it though :P
Its the online you should buy it for. Sp in mh games is like 20% of the game.
Also if you haven't played them Mass Effect 3 (not the best of the series but still a great game) and Splinter cell.
Also got it from the same sale.
Can't really recommend any new games, but theres a few VC games that are amazing if you're up for that.

Rayman Legends is getting the most play in my household. Nephew and nieces enjoy it the most. I like to play The Wonderful 101 myself.
The rest are first party exclusives and they are top notch already.

Yep, Mario Kart 8 at $58 at BigW is not a bad choice, since it comes with another game.
I just got Mario 3D World, which seems to be quite fun so far (better with friends).

In regards to good 3rd party titles, you can pick up ZombiU for $10 at Target, certainly worth the price if the zombie genre is of any interest to you.
Rayman Legends is $18 currently at Big W as well and is a great platformer, even better if you've got someone to play the Murphy stages with. I'd rate it as more enjoyable than NSMBU personally and a bargain at that price.
