So i bought the Sony sub poster here a few days ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/148896

Anybody know if I can use this amp my brother had lying around his house (still in box unused)

Or will i need to buy another? Also if anyone can recommend an installer in the Auburn (NSW) area that would be great. Thanks for any assistance!

yeah that should be fine.. just bridge 2 of the channels!

you would have speakers connection like:

    [+][-][+][-]

connect the sub with the first [+] and the last [-]

    • If you bridge the channels you will get 2 ohms, Sub is 4 ohms

In 3 channel mode that amp does 300w peak. Personally I wouldnt as you would be significantly underpowering the sub, causes them to wobble a bit and doesnt sound great, can also be damaged. Buts its a $50 sub, I wouldnt drop cash on a mono block for it, try it and if its doesnt work well, then reacces your options.

you can do the double bridge.. ive done it b4.. bridge 4 channels to 2 and then power sub using both bridge channels.

I would use your 4 channel amp to power your 4 speakers, 6.5" front and 6x9 rear.. and then buy a separate amp for your sub..

An amped up 6x9 should provide you with significant bass until u can afford another amp for the sub. just make sure you do all the wiring for it this first time so when you are ready for the next amp all you have to do is plug and play.Electrical tape to cover the endings should suffice.

It's not great if you have huge bass and no treble.. you need the balance to have a great sounding system.

    • Alright thanks man i think Im gonna have to take it all to a pro i looked up online for Fiesta speaker specs and it seems the speaker fitting are for 5x7 so i dont know how these speakers will actually fit.
