Moving out I need to invest in my own machine, are there any decent setups in the $500-600 range?

The Sunbeam PU6910 from TGG is $549 (+ shipping?) so that is around your budget… you get both an espresso machine and a grinder…
Do you want separate devices as our Breville 860 has served us well thus far, and you should find it in the range being on sale?
Best you might get is a Sunbeam or Breville setup if you specifically want a machine.. We have the Sunbeam 6910 and it does a pretty good job and even then, you might have to look secondhand to squeeze under your budget.
The problem is that the grinder alone is going to eat up at least $100..
Other standard budget options are Aeropress or Moka pot…
