hi, just bought a bundle of unwanted gifts from a person for just $1000, wonder is it worth it as the Surface Pro 3 is coming soon?
Cheap to have a brand-new Surface Pro 2 256GB + Type Cover 2 for $1000? As unwanted gifts without warranty though

true, the RRP for the 256GB Pro 2 is already more than 1400 plus the type keyboard is around 100-150 (depends where you gonna grab a bargain)
Without warranty, it's a bit of a risk, $1000 I would of spent it on a new Lenovo Miix 2 Windows 8 Tablet for $350, but that's with a intel Atom processor or Think pad 10 maybe. Surface is way over priced to begin with, but if you can sell it and make a small profit, I guess that's a great deal. But under the Australian law most consumer electronics are covered for 2years.
since it's brand-new, do you reckon I can register my info for warranty purpose when I unbox it? it's still in seal
Is there a receipt? I wouldn't call it 'way over priced'. Comparable spec'd Haswell lappies at i5 are all priced at $1000+ (if you want to call Surface Pro 2 a laptop). Depends if you think you'd find value in the upgrade, keep in mind you need batteries for stylus now cause it's N-Trig.
If anything I'd appreciate the screen real-estate, but not sure if it's worth dropping $500 or so extra (if you want the 256GB with Type Cover for Pro 3)
thanks everyone for the responses, i registered it with Microsoft and given more than 24 months of warranty which is great, but after few days of using, i honestly dont like its small screen, very powerful though, thinking about selling it n get a gaming machine instead
Lowest spec Surface Pro 3 is under $1000. From memory, 256GB is closed to $2000.00.
