  • nice find. has anyone had any experience with this multimeter? Can you check car battery voltage with this?

    • +5

Don't have experience with that particular model but, from looking at the photo, just change the dial to DCV 20 setting and you should be good.

has anyone had any experience with this multimeter?

not that exact one, but plenty of similar cheap ones

Can you check car battery voltage with this?

switch it to the DCV 20 setting and measure your car voltage (up to 20v anyway, if you want to measure higher voltage you just go to the next higher setting) to your hearts content :)

    • +2

Yes it will be fine for measuring 12v dc
i would be wary of the leads if measuring 240v though, check insulation quality. :)
OK for $9, every one should have one in their toolbox and there are plenty of cheap multimeters on ebay delivered for less.
At that price they are "disposable" if they fail.

      • Thank you luka, nosdan and oz-dxer.

    • Had one. Not that great. First one broke, second one is about to break too and I don't know why.. maybe I did something wrong.

Cheaper eBay one from China works better for me, has light and Continuity beep test.

    Are these screwdrivers Magnetic?

    • The photo would tell me yes. Results may vary.

    • +1

Yes, they are magnetic, it also comes with an AC voltage tester, a magnetic pickup tool and other stuff, much more specifications about this set in this handy pdf (page 47)

Also mods could this deal be in the automotive category please.

  • +2

Try and stack this with NRMA 10% discount. However says not valid with discounted items. Worth a shot still…

    very nice find op :)

  • I purchased one of these ages ago, for cheap screwdrivers these are pretty good.

Don't expect them to last in heavy use though. I'm sure they'll break, but there's enough of a variety in pieces that everyone should get one at this price.

      Are they magnetic tips?

  • Awesome…put these in the car instead of using my good stuff for camping/4WD'ing… they always go missing when I 'lend' them out to people.

    • Ahhh the ozbargain spectrum. These would be my good set :-P

  • brake cleaner 2 for $5 is good

  • Can't tell from the catalogue…are any of these small enough tips for electronics use? Such as the smaller screws inside of a PC/laptop?

So difficult to find anything hardened in those sizes- they always seem too soft/cheap & end up stripping with little use.

    Cheers

    • The Aldi rechargable screwdriver is awesome for PC use… hate having to build a PC these days without it!

    • Apparently they use Chrome Vanadium Steel, for a list of the screwdriver sizes, check this pdf (page 47).

  • Picked one up this morning at St Marys (SA). they have about half a dozen left.

  • Picked one up a few minutes ago. Good deal. A few left on the shelf, Franklin St Adelaide.

  • Got one at Lawnton at around 1:30. I think there were about 6 left there as well.

  • Grabbed a set today @ Coopers Plains. Sold about 3 more sets while I was there. About 10 left on the shelve.

  • Slightly off-topic, but can anyone comment with knowledge about the Automedia AM-3110BT Tuner on the last page (upper-right)?

    50% off (except it's actually 53% off :P )

Any good at all? Right now, I only have the factory tuner/CD (cd audio discs only) in a Toyota Camry 2005. I have no idea what's required to fit a unit nor if it's something any car audio place can do? Do all tuners work with any car?

Also, does this BT work for mobile answering or just music?

Thanks for any info you can offer! They're holding one for me…

    :)

  • None left in Lidcombe. Around 20 or so left at the North Parramatta one. That was around 2pm. =)

  • cheers op, grabbed a set too, 3 left @ noalunga SA on sat arvo.

  • Bought the 70 pc set + Automedia car stereo unit at Repco Mandurah. I'd hoped to hear back here at OB on the quality of the stereo, but in the end thought it must be at least as good as what I had from factory.

When I get it installed, I'll report back.

    Cheers

  • None left in Belconnen; I got the last one in Fyshwick ACT. There was 1 @ Mitchell and 1 @ Tuggers and 4 @ Phillip around 11am yesterday
