Just wondering what is the best value for money Phablet or tablet that can take a sim card at the moment.
Not fussed if it's an OEM or non name brand.
Thinking maybe around the 8 inch mark (basically for taking OS so I don't need a phone and a tablet).

Galaxy Note 1 is cheap and powerful enough for modern webpages and media.
After that you get into full tablet sizes, and I'd go a Windows8 tablet anyday :)

Battery quality is likely to be rubbish? not sure if 7000maH is good?
I have no idea what processors are good etc? From the outside it looks like the HDMI output / kitkat / quad core / 16gb ROM / 1 GB RAM sound good? 1024*600 screen is not so good?
That doesn't have 3G. Note that it says Supports 3G dongle. In Layman terms, it translates as "No 3G capability".
Yeah, I'm going to give up on the phone support in favour of a decent screen / battery/ HDMI out / Kitkat

Anyone tried one of the PIPO tablets - Notably the M7T ?
Only tablet 8"+ I can find with GPS / HDMI / WIFI / Flash camera/ 3G + Phone ability
Came down to only 2 tablets on the entire planet (that have a decent camera with flash, phone & 3G data support, hdmi output, can be charged through USB, an internal GPS, 8" or above and at least 5hrs + battery…. and they were both made by PIPO.
I went with the PIPO T9 - 8.9" 32gb Rom / 2gb Ram- Octa Core (plus above specs).
8 inches isn't a phablet anymore. It's a full grown tablet.
If willing to put up with 6.3 inch display:
Galaxy Mega 6.3 or Xperia Z Ultra
If you want 7 inches, perhaps get the ASUS Fonepad 7.
Please note that not every 3G tablet can make or take calls! There are probably only a select few tablets in the 8" form factor that can do calls.
