you know why it's cheaper now? they put in more cheap imported bahasa fillets and less salmon pieces!

The saving won't be applied until your at the checkouts at the seafood counter it will come up on and print from the scales at its current price, that might explain that for you!
I just saw "EXPIRED Woolworths Marinara Mix" and thought - well, that's why it's probably cheap…. ;-)

Someone posted on that FB page:
"The prawns are marinated and from Malaysia, the squid rings are from china, the mussels are from chile and the white fish is basa from Vietnam. The only Australian ingredients would be the salmon and parsley used as a garnish."
Would be nice if they listed a source for that info, but I do wonder whether it's accurate. Wouldn't be surprised if it was! lol
My dad used to cook up marinara all the time when I was growing up. It was beautiful. Always bought from Woolworths or Coles, too. Last year he decided to whip up a batch after not buying any marinara for years.
It was horrible. Very very few prawns, mostly white crappy chunks of fish (which I wouldn't eat), mostly calamari rings, tiny little mussels, no salmon. Loads of seafood extender though lol. That was from Woolies.
Never again…
I remember back in the days when it was like $15/kg or something (which I'm totally happy to pay)… it had more pieces of fish like salmon. I wish they could bring it back :P
