Can anyone recommend a tailor in Sydney? I need some dress pants hemmed and measured for me appropriately. I've called around to a couple of places, and it seems this is quite an opportunity to give you a nice inflated quote.

Go to Hunter Connection, some of the dry cleaners/alteration shops do hemming for $9.90
If its just the hems, there's a few places around Haymarket that will do it for about $10.
There's a place opp the Entertainment Centre under Eating World in the arcade that runs underneath. I have had my work pants done there with no issues aside from explaining what I actually want first up. English isn't her first language (or possibly second) but a big smile and some general pointing and you'll be away. If it's more complex, she'll grab the lady from the shop opposite and have her translate.
If you want suit tailoring, there's an older Greek gentleman in the Town Hall shopping centre beside Kathmandu. He rebuilt a jacket for me and I love it. Wasn't cheap or fast, but it was properly hand stitched.
