Try this… www.makemytrip.com but remember its local Indian site so may need to pay in local currency..
Have a look at Indigo to an Asian hub then Air Asia or Scoot to Sydney, I flew with them Delhi to/from BKK (basic but no issues)
With my travels I found full service airlines didn't like one way travellers, your better off with budget airlines.

It is better to buy tickets from the origin country to get better deals. In this case try from Mumbai or Delhi.
I have used Mann Travels and Value World Travels for tickets from Sydney to Delhi/ Mumbai. Talk to them or see rates on websites and see if you can get better deal.
