The Rocksmith bundle can be grabbed from Greenman Gaming for 22.94 when using the code IFDSUM-MERSAL-E15OFF. This is a historical low price and not even Rocksmith 2014 has being this cheap by itself.

The benefit of having both games is you can transfer the songs from Rocksmith 1 to Rocksmith 2014 for a fee. You get two steam codes for each game and if you already have the first Rocksmith you can give it to a friend.

An electric guitar and real tone cable is required for the game.

  • Where would be the cheapest place to get the Real Tone cable? They are still pretty expensive aren't they?

    • +2

It's $39 from MightyApe and Uplay

Expensive is really opinion based. I originally thought it was expensive, but I've played the hell out of Rocksmith and it's been worth every cent! I've even been able to get the cable to work in Guitar Rig 5, so I can just jam with different amps and stuff.

If anyone wants to learn the guitar, this is the game to get. If you already know the guitar, this is game to get.

    • I bought a bundle for PC for $36 at one point, if it was that low before it may get that low again.

Otherwise gumtree or whatever, can't imagine they would be expensive used.

  • Isn't Rocksmith 2014 basically an improved version of the same game? If you have it, you don't need Rocksmith 1.

They both have different song sets. You can get the Disc Import Tool for $9.99 which imports all of Rocksmith 1's songs that you own into Rocksmith 2014. I'd wait a bit before getting the disc import, though, as the Steam Summer Sales are rumoured to be on the 20th of June (19th U.S. Time) and it is undoubtedly going to get some sort of sale.

  • Damn, I bought it for like 30 a month ago.
Saying that I need something to spend that 25% off voucher before the 16th of this month.

For those unaware, you can get custom user made tracks at CustomsForge. These are NOT official DLCs and modification of some game files are required to get them working. It's well worth it!

  • Nice finding mate. FYI, I purchased and activated both of the Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014 in Mavericks, Apply OS X system. Rocksmith 2014 can also be played in Mac system. I thought the code is only for Windows version when purchasing the bundle. I am so happy since I can play Rocksmith 14 in Mac Os X as well.

In terms of Real Tone Cable, try buy discounted PS3 version of Rocksmith cable bundle. I got the ps3 game and cable with 29 bucks from EB. Cable is tested and the same as PC version.

  • Thoroughly recommend getting Rocksmith. My friend was lucky a few months back and got rocksmith original for PS3 for $10 just for the cable. It was at Harvey Norman closing down sale for one of their Clive Peters stores in Vic.

I also connect the cable to my iphone and ipad via the Lightning to USB adapter to play around with amps etc. no need to spend $100+ for the iRig.

That being said. I use the pirated PC version of rocksmith and each week I download new songs etc.

I would consider buying this real version if I can still continue to do this.

    • You can still continue to do that! Check this out and use the "PC alternative 1" method (it's simply just replacing a .dll file).

      • Excellent! Looks like I'll be buying it now then. Although I have bought the ps3 versions, I prefer PC purely coz of the DLCs and customs. Thanks!

  • Am I doing something wrong? It is listed at $89.98 and that code only gives 15% off so the price is $76.49..

  • Comes to $76.49 for me

It seems the deal has ended (pity). If you're still interested in Rocksmith 2014, it is still on sale on Uplay for $24.99 (still not as good as this bundle).
There is a Steam summer sale approaching and I dare say that Rocksmith will drop again during that time.

  • On again.Just type IFDSUM-MERSAL-E15OFF manually.
