Horrible capacity and horrible speed. Price per GB is comparable with a Samsung or Crucial 120gb which you would be much better off getting.
Is it really a horrible capacity if your entire OS + programs take up less than 30GB?
will be a fine upgrade from the 30gb boot/os drive thats in my ubuntu htpc. might even make it dualboot winfail as well this time around seeing ill have so much more space.
Seems great as an alternate cheap OS drive. I have a few OS's I want to try, like Mint and xbmcbuntu, and this looks like it will fit the bill well, rather than buy a larger drive I won't fill.
Not sure why it is horrible, it is a bargain.
I have a very similar drive
Great for just having your OS and a few programs like Microsoft office and chrome
I'd recommend this to anyone who is on a very tight budget. These are still much much faster than a regular HHD
Price gone up to $59 now :(
Edit: Sold outmanaged managed to get two of them. for a windows install with office and updates you need around 25-30 gb.. plenty for a htpc or pc with cheaper hdd for storage..
sigh they really need to advertise the quantities.
Just got mine delivered. A week is a bit long for a local company but not too bad. I see that mine has the 505 firmware, which I believe is the synchronous nand, whilst newer ones have different firmware and crapper asynchronous nand.
Can't complain about the price.
fwiw i got mine within a couple of days to adelaide. maybe when you ordered they were out of stock and had to wait for more to come in? i ordered as soon as this deal was posted.
I ordered pretty quick as well. Is yours the 505ABBF1 firmware?
Firmware Revision: 521ABBF0
I got 521ABBF0, though I'm only going to be using it as temp storage so speeds don't matter that much.
Thanks OP.
