Howdy OzBargainers,

Thank you for the awesome feedback on the last hose reel sale we did. Although this sale isn't knocking anything off the price, you are getting more in the freebie department than before (a cover and a premium starter kit valued at $57.90).

The real sale is on the pressure washers. We're knocking $30 off the regular prices, and throwing in the snowstorm car bundle which we normally sell for $124. So, our compact pressure washer is now just $189 and will deliver a professional car clean faster than you could have ever imagined.

Take a look at a video of the included Foam Lance in Action:

Already have a pressure washer? I've got you covered. If you need the car kit for a Karcher or a Gurney, send me a PM, with the make and model number, and I'll sort out a discount for you.

Shipping is free on orders over $30, we offer fantastic service and great warranties, plus we have a 30-Day money-back guarantee. To get a sense of how good our service is, pop by our facebook page to see what others are saying about us (& like if you like).

There are some other good sale items as well, such as the unfitted Superflex hose (we're moving to all fitted hoses) and the flexible mister for just $5. That said, you may need to wait a few months to use it!

Again, we greatly appreciate any and all feedback from the OzBargain community.

If you have any questions at all, please post here and I will do my best to help out straight away.

Cheers,
Beau

  • I'm looking for a new hose reel set so might give them a go too. Any further discounts for ozbargainers on say the 15 or 20m one?

  • +2

Flexible mister out of stock already.

    • Hey there, we were able to dig up a few more, so get in quick if you want one.

Considering it comes with the hoselink accessory connector which normally sells for $6.40 on it's own I reckon it's a steal.

It works very well, has a quality brass head and holds its shape perfectly to ensure it stays where you put it. I might have to grab a few before they're gone!

      • Thanks for the update, I checked last night and bought 3.

  • Want to order that metal spray gun but free shipping is only if order more than $30 can't find anything else:(

    • +1

Yes you do, the connections are great. I'm getting a couple more Flow Controllers, for each connection point and the end of one hose.

  • The $20 metal spray gun has the same functionality and look as your run-of-the-mil, $20 Holman spray gun from your local Bunnings.

No need to pay shipping for a commodity like that.

A lot of the other items seem identically priced with their equivalents in Bunnings.

    • +2

Actually, the Holman looks identical to our old spray gun (which had a fatal flaw of the flow control snapping off if dropped).

Our new spray gun is unlike any other on the market in that it is 95% metal. The trigger is metal, the plunger is metal. The only thing that isn't metal is the plastic face, which tends to deliver better spray patterns and is easier to twist to select different settings than a metal face (we've thoroughly tested both)/

In the 5 years I've been with the company, and the dozens of different spray dun models that we've come across - this is by far the most durable because it is the only one designed to be serviced.

This exploded view gives a pretty good idea of why the gun is so good:
      http://www.hoselink.com.au/assets/alt_2/5528.jpg

Typically if you pull a spray gun apart to clean it out (lizards like getting inside) and put it together again, the threads holding everything tight start to become loose. With ours, you can pull it apart and put together 100 times and it will be as good as new.

We also made a video about servicing this metal spray gun because we want it to last a life time:
      youtu.be/BRwHNErqKeo

Just give the plunger a shot of silicone spray squeeze the trigger to work it in and you won't have to mess with it for a few seasons.

We don't want more junk in the landfill and thought it was about time that we provide a spray gun that actually lasts. Seriously, you've never used anything like this gun before.

      • Thanks for the solid response. How long does it go between replacing parts?

The thing that gets me about modern spray gun design is the trigger mechanism unequivocally seems to be the weakest link in all of them. It's always secured on by a flimsy, thin metal pin that rattles a lot.

        Is this one any different?

        • +1

That pin does seem to be the Achilles heel on this too. I have pulled mine apart to lube it up after it became sticky. Simple to service, but I kept looking at that pin as the non serviceable section of the gun.

Rep, one bit of constructive feedback; it would be great if the Swivel Connector was also metal. I dropped the gun onto the grass (short so not a plush landing) and the connector snapped in half. With the weight of the gun, and the solid Accessory Connector this swivel point is very much a weak link.
It wasn't a soft landing my any means, but I was a little surprised to see it snap. i understand why it happened, and would not consider it a warranty type of thing, it failed because the force applied had become excessive. If a metal one is possible, please consider it.

        • Hey Snuke, thank you for the valuable feedback.

The pin should be a standard sized rivet in case it does need to be replaced, but I agree that we should look into something more robust and easier to replace. We haven't had many issues with the pin on this latest gun so far, but that dons't mean that we shouldn't strive to improve the gun to make it the absolute best it can be.

If you have any suggestions on how to best implement this, we would certainly take it on board.

With regards to the swivel connector, again great feedback and we would be happy to replace this free of charge under warranty. They were recently strengthened and we are receiving fewer reports of them breaking than before.

Alternatively, our new flow controller (which replaces a hose connector), has a swivel built in. It doesn't swivel as freely as the swivel connector, but it's durable and has the added bonus of providing a flow lever at the end of the hose which can shut off the water without having to go back to the tap. Perfect for situations when you want to quickly switch between a sprinkler, spray gun, etc.

PM me your email or order number so I can find you in the system and I'll send one out to you free of charge.

I'll forward your suggestions onto our product development manager and we will continue to make improvements as we move forward. Thanks again!

        • In our old guns (and presumably in the Holman example), we used "stainless steel", which would begin to rust and eventually break. The trigger pin is now aluminium and a bit beefier than before.

I'm holding the new spray gun at the moment and the pin has bery little give and does not rattle about. It fits perfectly flush, which should reduce friction over time.

What always strikes me about the new spray gun is how incredibly heavy it is and the quality of it's consrtuction. It is definitely something you wouldn't want to throw away.

        • I have a Flow Controller (and two more in my cart), I didn't realise they had swivel. I took the swivel connector off and attached the gun directly to the flow controller. You're right, not as free in it's movement, but a lot better than nothing. I have put the swivel connector back on.
This time I discovered another reason reason to have the swivel connecter as metal. It is hard to get a good amount of feedback from the plastic as to how much torque is being applied when tightening it to the gun. I cracked the swivel connector at the point the shifter was on by going too tight. Every time I have fitted it without a shifter, it would back off and leak. It still works properly, swivels freely, no leak, so all good. It would only be a problem if I planed to take it off and back on again. I have no need for that.
I have another order I am about to place.

  • Does this expire June 30?

    • Thanks for the reminder! It does expire June 30th. Post updated.

  • $20 off the entry level pressure washer (not $30) and the bundle is usually $50 with a washer, not $124. So still a good saving of $70, but not quite $154.

  • brought the 30m kit, thanks!

  • I'm just about to place an order for a couple of sale items and other odds and sods to top up my existing setup.

It would be nice if you would let people mix and match adaptors at the bundle prices. For example, You currently sell

    1 adaptor for 6.40
2 adaptors (eg tap to hose set) for 10.20 (saving 2.60)
4 adaptors (eg basic starter kit) for 19.20 (saving 6.40)

I currently want 8 adaptors, but they don't fit into your neat little sets and I'm having to pay almost full single price of 51.20 for them (I haven't worked through all the combinations yet - it's a bit like tetris with both shapes and numbers)

I was also looking at the discounted car care kit, but if you are doing a special on the Karcher car kit, that would be a good option. I'll PM my details. Thanks.

Always nice to have a friendly helpful person backing up a really good product.

    • Hey there.

We try to have starter kits on special, because they can be bundled up ahead of time, reducing the amount of work to pick and pack the orders. Thus we can offer them at a lower price.

That said, PM me a list of what you're looking to buy and I'll see what I can do. Also, PM me to let me know if you are interested in an extra special offer on the Karcher bundle.

      Cheers,
      Beau

  • Rep I have sent a PM re Karcher kit and no reply as yet. Please reply as want one for a good price ASAP.

    Thanks

  • Ordered a EVOWORKS 2000 + a 18m hose.

Opened the box, for some reason the tap connector was missing from the included Outdoor Starter kit. So…I got the hose connecter, accessory connector, but because I'm new to Hoselink, I still cannot do anything without the Tap Connecter. Cannot even buy hoselink accessories from local hardware stores either….

Called hoselink up - they will send out a new tap connector, but there goes my weekend plans of washing both cars + driveway….sucks.

    • You should get it before the weekend, they respond very quickly.
