Is there anything at DJs that isn't marked up ridiculous amounts compared to getting it elsewhere?

    • Wait til a 10% off Mac sale, or price match?

  • usable in David Jones' Dicksmith?

    • Yes. I used $160 of DJs gift cards to buy my HTC One (M8) from Dick Smith inside DJs.

  • Can you but the cards with the 10% off cards from big w?

  • I got $500 gift card from a friend and took me so long to spend it, 'cos most items are so overpriced. Bonds clothing are much cheaper in their outlet and CK men's clothing are much cheaper in Birkenhead. 10% off just isn't enough, unless they price match.

  • This is a pretty decent deal given that a lot of the fashion stock will be marked down 50-70% in the next few weeks as part of the mid-year stocktake sale.

    • Plus the Woolworths South Africa take over soon, David Jones will most likely dump a ton of non selling junk for truworths brands https://www.truworths.co.za/

      • As a shareholder with a large number of DJ shares I am looking forward to seeing the cash sale go through. Still waiting for their documents though.

If I purchased a gift card for $2000 then received 10% discount ($1800), then used this gift card to purchase another gift card for $2222.2 and after discount $2000. And repeated this process until I got $5000 all while only paying an initial $2000. Would this work?

    • Yes it will.

      • Depends if giftcards are able to purchase giftcards. Anyone confirm this is the case?

        • Doesn't seem to say you can buy these gift cards with giftcards.

    • I don't understand the part where YOU want to pay $2222 (You mean if you can select any amount to be added on the gift card, that it isn't rounded by them strictly to? $1000,$2000,3000?) .

How could this be done with $50 and $100 etc cards?

      • I used to work at DJs, you could add any amount you liked as the old registers allowed staff to place any amount . Though they updated all registers, the new ones might be different though.

With the 10% discount you continually pay for discounted gift cards. Essentially you can buy a $$5000 gift card with just $1000. Though I doubt they are dumb enough to let something like that happen

  • I've had no problems with DJ's price matching other stores.

  • About to purchase a new bed from DJs on Tuesday when there sale starts. This is awesome. Can't thank u enough!!

I guess if you plan to buy an iPad type product which has a relatively fixed/standard price then this would be useful. Personally I cut my hair at the Melbourne men's store there so my discounted gift cards are particularly useful.

    • lol how much is the haircut? $150?

  • Has anyone tried to buy it yet? Do they ask questions if you are part of a corporate company they deal with?

  • Does anybody need a discounted Myer gift card (10%) that I bought from the other deal on Saturday. It's $100 (2 cards of 50 each) I wanted to buy something from Myer but somehow I ended up buying form DJ last night. So now I need to sell the Myer card.
PM me if you live in SE or East side of Melbourne.

    • I worked as a Christmas casual at Myer melbourne back in 2000, some girl managed to walk down past all the David jones entrances, past most of the Myer entrances, went up the lift 7 floors into a training room , didn't apologise for being late, then realised she was in the wrong store, you sure something similar didn't happen? :P

      • No mate. That's not what happened to me. I wanted to buy a Birthday gift for my wife in the weekend. I thought I'd save 10 bucks when I was at a BigW anyway and decided to buy 2 cards just for sake of it.
Then went to buy the watch on Sunday and Myer didn't have the colour my wife liked. DJ had that in Silver and was bit cheaper as well. So I ended up buying from DJ.
Now I should either sell it or wait for a deal from Myer. I am not a regular shopper at Myer anyway.

  • How do I order one of the vouchers and where do I put in the discount code? Am I missing something?

    • I would like to know the same thing

      • When I got back home I will try to upload the email I received , which has the instructions I believe

  • Seems like it needs to be purchased via the corporate services. Online there are only gift cards up to $500 in value. I tried to purchase two of these and apply the EOFYDM discount code but it was not valid.

I will send them an email and see how I can purchase them.

  • Contact Corporate services via the email [email protected] and request for a egift card order form to be sent out. Fill the form in and follow the instructions sent to you. I can confirm that the deal is available.

  • I have to ask, isn't this a fairly standard thing for corporate gift card purchases? If you buy enough in bulk, they'll offer a discount that is based on some sort of equation involving gross profit and breakage?

That's the sole purpose of corporate gift card divisions, i thought.

I guess my point is… if you're prepared to buy in significant volume, ask the question of the corporate/bulk discount.
