  • Awesome, just woke up to find out about the price decrease, contacted Amazon and got a refund for the difference ($11 USD).

There needs to be some kind of rule that 28degrees or similar 'requirements' are to be posted in the title as not to mislead.

While it's all good putting that info in the description, it's still somewhat unfair as not everyone wants/is able to get a credit card.

    Still, good price regardless

    • citibank plus account offers a similar exchange rate. it is a visa debit card rather than a credit card and should be straight forward to get assuming you are old enough.

you can use any visa debit card but other banks might sting you for an extra 2-4% foreign currency transaction fee

  • Tried 28 degrees mastercard, coming up as $84.78. Anyone else getting this?

    • have you selected USD in amazon?

    • At the point where it prompts you for a choice of Australian card in AUD or your card in foreign currency, choose the foreign currency option and select USD. Amazon will then charge USD on your card.

$94 from MSY. I'm not sure if it's totally worth it this being just a few dollars cheaper for overseas stock and overseas warranty and having to potentially wait weeks for delivery. I'm sure i'll get negged over this comment.

You know an extra 3% CC fee of $84 is another $2.52 which makes it $86.52 which is only about $7.50 less than what you can buy it from MSY. In my opinion hardly worth it. If it was like $30 cheaper that would be a different story.

    • yep im after around this size ssd for my htpc (need something a little bigger than the 30gb its currently using) but the hassle of getting it from OS plus obvious warranty issues if something were to go wrong just isnt worth the couple of bucks saved to me either.

hopefully there will be an EOFYS somewhere on drives

    • Around $91 with paypass if have 5% discount less 2% surcharge.

    • Crap comparison from an MSY lover Holly.

If you pay with your credit card at MSY you'll pay a surcharge (levied by MSY themselves) but you didn't factor that in….

Also cost to get to MSY and back (unless you can walk) - or add in MSY's postage costs of at least $10.

I reckon if you bought from Amazon today and MSY today for postal delivery, there is a fair chance your Amazon purchase would arrive before MSY…

I wasn't saying any thing about paying via credit card at MSY you were. You can pay by cash at MSY to avoid any payment surcharge, surely. I mean it's not hard to use your own banks fee free ATM machine some where.

About that Amazon order arriving before an order from MSY would. On the contrary. My last expedited delivery order from Amazon arrived in 2 and a half weeks to Queensland. You're at the will of the shipping company and at the will of Australian customs where the parcels can get held up there in a stockpile for a while.

Surely a domestic Australian order could arrive quicker. I mean from Sydney i can get it in 3 days via regular delivery. The same can't be said from an overseas order from Amazon.

  • ..so the 120 went down ,and the 500 went up. Oh well.

  • Bought last week locally from ARC for $95, I wouldn't bother the hassle for $10 and local warranty if ever needed but not likely.

    • Bit less than $10 if you take into account the CC currency conversion fee on top of that $84.18.
