Which in all honesty I see as a $20 local warranty. But to each their own, $20 saving is still $20 saving.

Agreed. My Nexus 5 suddenly wouldn't boot a few months back - having the 2 year google warranty meant I got a fast and no-hassle replacement. Easily worth the extra $20 IMO.
Yep same here. Replacement was shipped out and when I was happy with the replacement, courier came to pick up my old one. Zero hassle, zero cost, well worth $20.
The warranty card states two years, they follow a two year guide line like Apple and don't advertise it or loosely interpreted ACL rights? (Curious as looking to buy for gf).

+1 for local warranty - also if buying directly from google you'll receive the phone a lot quicker than ordering from clove.
UK is cheaper for almost everything else but not phones and tablets (including Apple)
