  • Why would anyone put Chia seeds in jam ?

    • +1

      Chia is the new voss

    • +3

Straight from the back of the jam -

'Proudly made with 100% Australian grown Chia. Chia seeds are one of the richest plant based sources of Omega 3, Fibre and Protein.'

Aside from that I've got the Blood Orange and Chia jam and it's very enjoyable, I'll be picking up the Raspberry and Chia one at this price.

Chia seeds are one of the richest plant based sources of Omega 3, Fibre and Protein.'

        It's a jam.

In the minuscule amount you'd eat each day on average, how much Omega 3, Fibre and Protein do you think it would contain ?

        It's just a marketing gimmick…

I'd only buy this if it actually tasted good, not for the health benefits…

        • +2

sounds like you should give it a try jv, it's half price

        • I can't believe it. 100% agree with jv! Time to consult a shrink…

        • I bought some and tried it this morning. It's a nice jam, not too sweet with a fairly standard fruit to sugar ratio. Favourite jams would have to be rosehip or mulberry, the latter easier to make locally given the number of isolated mulberry trees dotted across the countryside.

So thanks for the post Mark Baker.

    • Vegemite in Coke

    • +1

Not a jam champ, its actually a spread you can use it in yogurt or in milk as a milkshake etc….
Also henry jones is some premium aussie stuff un-like your other crap jam/spreads.

Tried the Mango, passion fruit and chia one from the RedPawPaw box. It's good.
Personally haven't tried the other flavours, can anyone comment on the other ones?

    • +2

Love the raspberry one awesome to use in a milkshake

  • Can anyone help me please? Would I be able to scan the barcode at the self-checkout, perhaps with my phone?

    • +1

Safer to print out, because it depends on the barcode reader(most don't work on phones). It says "Take the printed Coupon In-store".

    • +1

I've tried at both Coles and Woolies around me and it's never worked. Both have been renovated recently so up to date scanners.

That's on my iPhone 5, it would be interesting to hear from other people's experiences with other phones.

      • +1

Yeah dont do it on your phone, its hard enough to get it to scan at 7-eleven when they use to give away quite a lot of stuff.

      • +1

Put the phone into landscape mode and zoom in on the barcode so that it's as big as possible.

Scanned my Nexus 5 today, and it worked.

If your phone has a laminated display (i.e., no air gap between the glass and the LCD) then there should be no problem.

Also, make sure the brightness is sufficient, so it's clear that black is black and white is white.
