Hi guys,

I've been hunting for cheap flights for the peak period (June-August) without much success… until now! Crazy flight deals available from Royal Air Brunei.

I got a flight on June 21 - Aug 19, MEL - LHR. I had a quick look and seems to be across multiple dates. I'm using this flight to jump across to Paris for an extra $222 (with Air France), making it by far the cheapest way of getting to Paris I could find, at $1587. The LHR-CDG leg is comparatively quite expensive, so if you hunt around you'll easily be able to get tickets from MEL-EU for under $1500, which is a great deal for these times.

I also noticed MEL-BKK and MEL-Dubai are very cheap too, so if you mix and match airlines and flights, you could use this to get quite a cheap deal to wherever you're trying to reach. Note that Dubai is currently undergoing renovations, so these flights are going to the alternative airport.

Note also that Royal Brunei is a 'dry' airline - but I'm happy to save the few hundred $$$ in exchange for 2 days of sobriety…

    True, I suppose. Important for some… for me it's just about getting there for the cheapest so I don't really consider stop-overs, just price and overall flight time (which is still very reasonable)

  And it will be on their new dreamliner 787, great windows and 3 X 3 X 3 seating much better than 3 X 4 X 3 Either Emirates or is it Etihad? Can someone please Clarify?
  Very spacious and better pressurisation. Lighting is supposed to be better for jet lag. Only started flying from MEL on April 3rd. JoyV
