Virgin airlines business class award bookings - changes on the day.

I'm flying virgin business class on an award booking today. I'd like to take a flight three hours earlier and was wondering if anyone had experience with this in so far as getting counter staff to change it. I am the lowest tier flier with virgin. There are three paid seats on the flight I want and ten on the later flight I'd like to change from. Any advice would be appreciated. :-)

  • Not usually a problem if you just ask at the lounge, they refer to it as "GoShow". You may not receive a meal for the flight you change too though as the catering would probably be already packed for that aircraft.

  • No. Have not yet checked my bag, but I will have to at check in. My understanding is that I will check in before going to the lounge. Anyway, I'm enroute now. We'll see what happens. Thank you.

  • Every class is sold out in the earlier flight. The lounge is not a bad place to literally piss away a few hours. The food is absolute and complete rubbish. Shocking in fact.

  • OMG.And the lounge chairs are filthy. Other than the included grog this is worse than the public transport I took to get here!

    • That's too bad, availability can be a bit hit and miss on the day of departure with people doing upgrades and last minute changes. Sorry to hear about the lounge, which airport were you flying out of?
