I've been looking for a good bargain on NAS drives that are relatively local and finally a deal has popped up that I'll definitely be going for!
2TB - $118
3TB - $150
4TB - $215
Cheapest found on staticice is: $119, $159.75 and $229.

Its a good price for a local purchase that you can walk into a shop and have in your hand straight away.
And if you have some issue you can just go back again.
Agreed on the first part where u can pick up straight away, but the latte part, it's probably earlier to deal with amazon or new egg rather than MSY, when it comes to issues.
can't agree more.
How do NAS hard drives compare to regular hard drives?
they're mounted sideways.
if you tip your pc over, you can mount them topwise.
Different firmware and a longer warranty (3-year). That's about it. Statistically no more reliable than consumer-grade HDDs.
They sleep less.
Any comment on the Neatgear ReadyNAS, any good for storing files, streaming videos, remote access via internet at that discounted price?
I think that the NAS drives are design to better handle being on 24/7.
Don't buy Seagate…WD ROX…lol
I think they are usually 5 years warranty
They're showing out of stock on their website for the NetGear RN31200-100AJS which they show in their flyer…
Does this mean that they're just bait advertising?
Or will they not show stock until tomorrow?
Not really a bargain as Amazon or newegg has the same price all the time.
