Booking jetstar thru expedia.co.jp is a cheap way to go when booking on long weekends and school holidays.
The $33 fare to GC becomes $75 when you add a seat, luggage and pay with a credit card. I thought this sort of 'bait and switch' marketing by airlines was now ILLEGAL!!
call up Jetstar and say you would like to price match them.
They will wave the card fee and give you 10% off, so will be $61 + seat fees (if you really need it)
Alternatively you can use an AU issued debit card to waive the card fee as well
It's called ancillary revenue. You're paying $75 for a seat on a plane that will get you from A to B. There's no baiting nor any switching going on. Just because you're paying for a flight does not automatically entitle you to select which seat you want to sit in or carry baggage with you.
As for the CC fees, as long as the fees are reasonable and justifiable it's legal. The airlines are getting around this by saying it's a booking and handling fee and not a CC fee. They're getting around it by using a loophole.
Really cheap to fly to Gold Coast - $67.90 return. I paid about $120 return earlier this year. However sale fares are not applicable to weekends (Friday to Monday).
