Just wondering has anyone actually booked flight tickets on very last moment? Any suggestions is it worth to take that kind of Risk?? If Yes where actually cheapest tickets can be purchased?

Seems rare. If you're booking last minute you generally NEED them, so you have to pay what's on offer…

Have just finished getting last minute for the USA and was a bit surprised to get them from http://www.statravel.com.au/
Daughter picked up hers from Cairns for $950 return in mid April but Adelaide was a lot more expensive at that time.
You need to keep watching and grab them when the price is reasonable.
Mine turned up for $1350 but that price had vanished by the time I got home to book. Finally booked a Qantas flight for $1800 which is not bad for booking late June just a month beforehand.
It`s certainly not the best way to get the cheapest fares.
Also http://www.kayak.com.au/ will check a lot of consolidators for youWe can get flights to Melbourne on special for a little under $200 at times. My daughter and her hubby had to go a couple of years ago on the spur of the moment and had to fork out $1200. Don't leave it until the last minute.

Today $968 and will get worse as dates approach
