Recent buyers of Camry

Hi everyone

I am thinking of taking advantage of the EOFY sales to get a new Toyota Camry. Is there anyone here who recently (within 2-3 months?) bought one and if so would you mind to please share here with us the deal that you got from the dealer?

I am just looking at the base altise model. The best deal i got so far is $28,000 on 1% finance for 4 years. (sadly no extra eg. floor mats, tinting).

If you would like to share your recent purchase (altise or atara)and the deals you got that would be greatly appreciated and would be helpful to other potential Camry buyers here.

Forgot to mention that I'm from Brisbane but please do share what you guys get from the other states as well.

Thank very much for sharing.

  • Not answering your question but you may like to know that 2013 models were selling for $14000 at Pickles Auction Geebung today, they had 5 of them.

    • @ mattie

yep buy it from Pickles if the ks aren't too high.

      • Yea, thought of getting at auction but I guess I really want original factory warranty, cap priced service etc..and the new car smell…

You will still get all that with a used 2013 model. The smell might have waned a bit but when you save $14000 who cares.
I doubt you will score one for $14000 though… but the saving will be worthwhile.

        • That new car smell may be carcinogenic.

        • you are right…i probably drop the new car smell as one of the factors to get a new car :)

Most are bought by dealers to re:sell :)

  • Bought one last year, Victoria, Atara SX 0% 4 years, $34k (mats, rear sensor, boot mat, bootlip) driveaway.

    • Really tempted to get the Atara model but it's really out of my budget:(
I initially only planned a budget of 26k to get a brand new Camry but that is just never going to happen obviously..

  • They do not give floor mats! REALLY?

    • Yup, I think I did not get the best deal available yet..

  • have you visited different toyota dealers?
you might want to get a quotation from few different places to compare prices.

    • To be honest I only went to two so far..I thought they would not have any significant difference?

      • I recently purchased a hyundai i30. I tried few different dealerships and the one I bought it from was cheaper by about 1.3k compared to other dealerships. I personally would definitely take another day or two and visit at least 3-4 different dealerships just to compare the prices. Quote them how much you were offered from other dealers. And if they can beat that price, that's a bonus.
And this is the perfect time to search for good prices on cars as we're reaching end of financial year.

        • i want to buy an i30 trophy manual petrol.
what price do you think i should aim at?

  • friend of mine bought 2013 model camry (paid 21k aud on 1% finance)- demo model (7k kms) with full waranty and capped service fom dealer in pakenham victoria

    • What really?? Wow good to know that! Thanks

      • +1

But keep in mind, demo vehicles are cheaper for a reason i.e driven recklessly due to many different people driving it. So there would definitely be a lot more wear and tear in a 5k kms demo vehicle as opposed to an average person driving it for 5k kms.

@OP, have you tested other cars in the competition? New Mazda 6/Accord Euro/Liberty?

I had the previous generation Camry Grande and it was sooo boring to drive and the new one looks like a box.

    • I did consider other brand but because i want to get a mid sized sedan and am very price conscious, toyota seems like the cheapest to buy and also to maintain (capped price servicing and parts price seems cheaper than rivals) with good reputation.

      • There's no doubt that if you plan to keep the car for a long time then the Camry is the way to go but the handling of mine was like a boat. It's cheap to maintain though if that's what you want too hehe.

  • I on the other hand have been driving my Camry Grande since 1998 and it is still a brilliant vehicle. Not yet tempted to let it go.

    • Agreed. I'm driving a 1995 camry csi currently. it still going strong, i actually never spend any money on repairs since i bought it 4 years ago. just normal oil/filter change etc. However it is really old nw, I'm worried about safety for mrs and myself that's why i thought it's time to change.
