    Would be difficult, as I'm fairly sure the 4pack cans don't have a barcode.

    I agree, it's likely the minimum wage 14 year old behind the counter scanned a single can by mistake.

    If you're an energy drink company producing say half a million 500ml cans, why would you make separate cans without barcodes for the 4 packs?

      there are barcodes on the seperate cans, but i doubt he managed to scan the single barcode 4 times. (i bought 16 cans)

      Uhh… Companies do that all the time, to stop retail shops from buying the cheaper multipacks and reselling as singles. They usually label them as 'not for individual sale' as well.
