Sydney Vivid what is the best way to see it

Thinking of taking the kids to see the lights of Sydney Vivid, wonder what is the best way to see them. Thinking I may also take my aged mother, but would need to find a tour or something to go on then, as she could not walk around thanks

  • Hey mate, i know there are some cruises on scoopon/groupon for scoopon.

I personally haven't been on one but could be worth checking out?

    • Im going to assume that the ferry ride is only good for the Sydney opera house projection, MCA, Harbour bridge and maybe the giant white bunnies. As for other installations i think the only option is by foot unfortunately. I would suggest avoiding weekends as that is when there is the most people.

      • If you are going on a cruise i recommend dont, if if you have to take the ferry. The cruises are too far away from the action, vivid is better if you are closer to the action and can move around along the wharf areas

  • I would suggest going to darling harbour from town hall station for the water show, then catching a train to martin place, It exits right where the installation is. then getting in the train and then getting off at Quay. There isnt much to look at up the opera house side really worth looking at if you are walking with elderly.

Exit and watch the custom house exhibit and slowly walk up the MCA side.

  • Here's some trails from their website.

Haven't done them myself but these trails give a good idea of what's around.

  • I went there on opening day. So bloody crowded. But I had great views of the opera house and harbour bridge at the MCA cafe (had dinner there). Relatively good food and great views with entertainment book offer (1 for 1 main).

I recommend the cruise or dinner at MCA or dining room Park Hyatt. There's too many people to walk around casually.
