I am traveling to NZ on Tuesday and am only taking carry on luggage. I have booked a flight where I am able to take 1 checked piece but didn't want to take so much stuff.
I have my small suitcase for carry on but was wondering if I could take a small backpack plus a handbag on board as well? my friend seems to think she does it all the time but I'm not sure after reading through forums if it is possible.
so I would have one suitcase, backpack and handbag.
If it's not possible to take 3 things on board can i check in the small suitcase and just take the rest on the plane?
I'm new to this sorry haha but anyone have any ideas on how I can take all 3 items?
Thanks.
I flew Air New Zealand a few weeks ago to Auckland. Took carry-on only. Had my Osprey Porter 46 bag and a belkin 14" laptop satchel, was not an issue, although they did weigh my main carry-on luggage (haven't had that happen for a while).
I think you would raise the ire of our friendly neighbours if you tried to take all three items on. You could of course check in the small suitcase, but only if you bought check-in luggage when buying your ticket (Air NZ follows the Virgin model in this regard).
Enjoy your trip - NZ is beautiful - wish I was still there haha.
