ADSL2+ connection: Phone line socket problem

Hi Guys,

I just moved in a new rental unit and found the phone line socket like this - http://i.imgur.com/aa9nohoh.jpg

In my previous unit, it looked like this - http://i.imgur.com/sgK8XVKh.jpg

As you can see, there is no way I can connect my modem to the phone line in my new flat, can you guys please suggest how I can overcome this problem?

Get the adapter piece that fits between the phone line and the 4 pronged plug.

  • As above, get the adapter. Telstra sells one for $9 and I'm sure there are other places that sell it too if you can't wait for shipping.

  • Thanks guys! I'll order the eBay one. Just to make sure, does not it mean that the previous tenant took it unlawfully?

    • No not really, it means you were been very generous to leave it for you next tenant when you moved out. That adaptor does not count as a fixture.

    • Just go to the hardware store and buy one today!
It might cost you $2 more…

      • I've ordered TPG unlimited ADSL2+ but it'll take 2 weeks to connect. So no hurry, will buy from eBay.
