ADSL2+ connection: Phone line socket problem

Hi Guys,

I just moved in a new rental unit and found the phone line socket like this - http://i.imgur.com/aa9nohoh.jpg

In my previous unit, it looked like this - http://i.imgur.com/sgK8XVKh.jpg

As you can see, there is no way I can connect my modem to the phone line in my new flat, can you guys please suggest how I can overcome this problem?

Get the adapter piece that fits between the phone line and the 4 pronged plug.

As above, get the adapter. Telstra sells one for $9 and I'm sure there are other places that sell it too if you can't wait for shipping.

Thanks guys! I'll order the eBay one. Just to make sure, does not it mean that the previous tenant took it unlawfully?

  No not really, it means you were been very generous to leave it for you next tenant when you moved out. That adaptor does not count as a fixture.

    I've ordered TPG unlimited ADSL2+ but it'll take 2 weeks to connect. So no hurry, will buy from eBay.
