Coles/Woolies homebrand milk vs. Pauls/Dairy Farmers/A2/Pura

I'm mostly interested in the original (full cream, non-light, no X% fat free) types of milk. Is there a big difference in homebrand compared to the branded ones besides the $1 savings you get with homebrand?

And then between the bigger supermarket branded milks, are there differences or it's so subtle to ignore?

    • Very informative mini doco!

I've heard people say homebrand milk tasted a little bit more diluted than the branded ones. Anyone noticed that? I for one couldn't taste the difference.

      • if you cant taste the difference that's probably your taste buds, i can taste the difference between two branded full cream milks, i couldn't say 1 is better than the other but they taste different, as for home brand milk , heck yea it taste different , and different is not always good or bad , i just prefer what i am accustomed to.

  • Great video. Confirmed what I've always believed.

  • Can anyone confirm the observation from the video. Between Coles and Woolworths, we have found woolies to be more diluted than coles

    • I reckon different Woolworths and Coles stores would have different suppliers in each area. So it's possible that milk could have a different taste etc. I know where I live there is no taste difference between the Coles brand and the Woolies brand. I drink close to 3L a day of milk too ;)

      • Wow, 3L a day for yourself alone? That's either alot of coffees or protein shakes!

  • Read about the negative fear mongering campaign by Pauls… so definitely off them.

The fact they approached ACA and ACA didn't want to touch it, is very telling

  • For the patriotic.

    Paul's is Italian owned.

    A2 is NZ owned.
