    • That page doesn't show 2 for 1 banner.

  • -1

so the avg is $300-350 per person for a single trip back from Japan.
    Nothing special here

We've seen below $300 for a single trip before but I think $300-$350 is still not bad.

  • Just read the travel periods…not for next year :(

  • 私は日本を理解していない!

  • Could be a good deal if you want to fly one way from Japan to Oz!

Just had a look at prices for Gold Coast return to Tokyo, Jun 28 - Jul 6 for 3 adults and 1 child.
Total = $2,465 (including taxes). Not a great deal. :-(
Important to note though that the return leg (Tokyo to Gold Coast) was only $604!
Travel period is Jun 9 - Dec 9, 2014. (Melbourne is from Jun 10.)
(Interestingly, the exact same flight booked on Jetstar's oz website totals $3638, the only difference being the return leg.)

Also, I just noticed that the sale period ends today (May 23) at 10:00 (JST) (or 11:00 AEST).

    • So doesn't that suggest it's a good deal? I get it that chepaer deals pop up from time to time but that is a risk to wait for one of those and if they don't come up or the dates don't suit but these do then this would seem like a good deal at almost 1/3 cheaper!
Having said that, the thing that kills the deal and what makes this deal VERY misleading is the Taxes and Surcharges. I found a date with the advertised 'cheap fare' of Y14,500 ($154) from Tokyo to Melbourne direct and the taxes are about $210. When taxes and surcharges are more than the ticket and you don't advertise that up from, I call Shenanigans!
Still, $364 one way with no stopover isn't bad but that's with no carry on, no meals, and probably a stool to sit on…

      • Yep, I agree that $2,465 is a BETTER deal than $3,638, but IMO I still don't think that $600 per person return from the Gold Coast is a GREAT deal (especially considering no meals and no checked luggage).
Totally agree about how excluding taxes and charges from the advertised fare is shenanigans.

  • Edit:Never mind
