Edit: Tracking code just got updated with Received at StarTrack Location for processing (Late Freight)' at a location which is about an hours drive from my place, looks like I was just impatient but the amount of negative reviews on ProductReview also had me worried which led me to create this post. I guess more things could go wrong, but I'll find out tomorrow.
Bought an Xbox One from DSE, courier is StarTrack and delivery is late

If they did though, wouldn't they know this?
possibly
But I myself have SENT an item
and the tracking just stopped midwayI checked my ebay account and saw the buyer had
received the item and left feedbackI complained to the courier (fastways)that the tracking info had no been updated
and they said that it was handed over to another courier who
looks after the area and he doesn't have the facility to update there system
and had to manually scan the run sheet to them and they updated the
info within a couple of day with a scan of the sigBut as I said no matter if you don't get it and they cant prove they delivered it EG Your signature, then they will have to send another or refund you
Couriers suck, I always add a week or 2 onto the eta
You will be covered if lost or damaged in transit or delivered to wrong address.
If its stolen from your doorstep (after they deliver it) its not covered.
Delivery/transit insurance is worthless. It does not do anything more than what the fair trading act covers.
You could ask Startrack to they require a signature or will they dump it and run.
P.S. your claims are with DSE and not the courier company. DSE are responsible for ensuring you get your Xbox
I called up StarTrack again and they said all deliveries for Dick Smith require a signature.
The person I spoke with also said that the investigator for the case believes they never picked up the parcel as Freight Manifest Transmitted only came up on the tracking code on the 20th at 00:00 even though the tracking details clearly state is was picked up from seller at Narre Warren near Melbourne on 19th in the afternoon and was received by their Melbourne DFPC 2 and a half hours later. Also mentioned that the investigator called Dick Smith about it and asked Dick Smith to call me.
Yeah Dicksmith wouldn't just shaft you unless they had proof you recieved the goods. Your plenty protected. Sometimes paying extra for an item over the counter is paid back in the stress saved with the courier companies etc. especially if its a valueable item
I didn't have a choice of paying for delivery, buying insurance or choosing courier. I wish they'd allow Click & Collect for these deals.
They wont do click and collect because in store stock has a less profit margin due to the cost of sales teams and other expenses. Which is why they can justify the online only discounts.
Contact DSE and let us know what they say, Startrack is now owned by Australia Post. Did you purchase the product with a master/visa credit or debit card? Then you can file a charge back with your bank too; if you still did not receive the product or a replacement or a refund after a reasonable amount of time.
It was paid with a Commonwealth debit MasterCard, a long time ago I wanted to do a chargeback because something I purchased from another retailer didn't want to replace a DOA speaker set but was told it'd take weeks or months so didn't bother.
Called Dick Smith and the person I spoke with just said that it was picked up on the 19th of May (She probably just looked at the tracking details on StarTrack) and said she sent an email to StarTrack and will get back to me when there's an update.
If it was picked up on the 19th, I probably wouldn't expect it for a day or two yet. Startrack are slow. But it will come.
Yeah OP, i would probably give them 3-5 business days since it was sent before looking too much into it.
I too think Startrack is the worst courier imho.
Looks like it arrived at the nearest DFPC near me, should get it tomorrow. :D
Hmmm I'm a little worried.. my Xbox One package states awaiting fulfilment… what the bet they are out of stock…
I have the same problem with my order on 7-May which I didn't receive the item. According to Star-Track tracking system, it is sitting in DFPC. I called Star-Track twice and got no response. They just said the investigation team is on it and will get back to me. When? I gave up. I use paypal, therefore I just submit a claim for the refund. Just be warn that you are taking a risk for delivery buying from DSE.
I bought a xbox one last week and had a Belkin Audio kit delivered instead of my xbox. The order no and consignment sticker was all correct on the parcel but NO XBOX. After talking to online customer support i was told to go to my nearest DS……what a nightmare as the store had no idea what was going on as the online team didn't even call them or give authorisation. After 1 hr i went away with the xbox one that i should've had delivered. Looks like the warehouse messed up big time and the person who ordered the Belkin got my xbox. The investigation team called me yesterday to say the other person called them to say they received an xbox instead of the Belkin. They apologised and offered me a gift card. Not sure if i would buy from their online eve again as it caused me so much stress.
What was worth more?
To answer the question to the OP, late freight means it was recieved at the processing center late and wouldn't be processed at working night, normally this is for O/N freight (which DSE uses normally)
S'pose you'd have to put this one in the "1st World Problem" box, eh?
Like any courier company just like startrack bypass them go straight to the supplier when you deal with a freight company you always get headaches
I would not worry
probably given to a third party courier
No matter what you will be covered
