id just like to say the airasia SYD > KUL > LHR is your best option because its only 2 flights as opposed to Mustkill's option which is 2 stopovers as is my recommendation with vietnam airlines (but theres the potential to upgrade to business but yeah haha)
That is true. Couldn't find a better deal via KUL though.
However transit via KUL is a pain due to LCCT being so far away from international whereas it's all under the same roof in SIN.This is also true lol.

Correct! Evidently there is an ERL (Express Rail Link) that you can use to transer between the 2 terminals.

If you wanted to be really flexible you could do the 3rd of June (OOL > KUL) - 4th of June (KUL > LHR) then return to KUL on the 23rd at night then stay then return to australia on the 24th of june for about $1270 return :)
dates more firm now depart 8th- 11th June, return 9th- 15th July. must leave bris or gold coast now,
you have both been soooo helpful, now checking out flying to paris or dublin, then accross to london, seems to be lots of reviews on prices being cheaper this way, however, still struggling to make them work…Just be aware last minute intra-europe flights aren't really that cheap, unless you are flying Ryanair which I have tried to avoid myself.
Just warning you, I gave you the return date up above as the 8th of July because after the 8th the prices begin to mega-increase. Well with airasia they did at least.. Not too sure about scoot.
great news, got bris to manchester via 2 very quick stops, $1800 return on exact dates we wanted.(26 hours each way)

If you want to fly multiple airlines then you could get it pretty cheap.
On the dates that you've specified the cheapest I can find is SYD > KUL with AirAsia then KUL direct to LHR with Malaysia Airlines you could probably get it for just under $1500 from the 8th of June to the 8th of July-ish.
The cheapest one-airline return flight I can find is about $1790 with Vietnam Airlines from the 8th of June to the 8th of July from sydney. But even this route involves two stopovers, one in Vietnam and one in Germany. The only bonus of this you can attempt an optiontown upgrade to fly in business class.
From a quick search of one stop flights to london.. You're probably looking at about $2200 with china southern.
