That when you don't need a deal on something, there's always lots of them.
But once you need a deal - there are no deals to be found?
My current example - over the last couple months I have noticed a few decent deals on computer monitors and thought to myself, 'hum, maybe I should upgrade my monitor?' 'No" I finally decide. "I don't need it".
So, what happens. All of a sudden I find myself needing a new monitor - and no deals…
Typical.
Self-control is massively overrated.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Have you ever noticed?

why wait when you can buy every deal
There are always used monitors u can buy on ebay
wanted something off cotd yesterday, searched for coupons, codes, etc, nothing. bought anyway.
now the gift card comes available today …I have noticed this, and I use the "Find me a bargain" forum.
not the best success posting there though.
I have the motto that if something has been at that price before, I will not pay more than that for it, so at least can use past deals as a guideline for what I am willing to spend :)
Hey I have that exact same feeling. That's when people start to regret and say, "I should've bought that when it was on special the other day!" so now I have to pay the full price instead.
Story of my life
This is called "the phone always rings when I'm in the shower" claim. You only counted the times you wanted something and it wasn't on sale. To be fair, you should also count the times you wanted something and it was on sale. You might find there isn't any difference in probability of a sale being on.
However a more practical response would be to have an idea of when your things (car, phone, computer, etc) are due for replacement and to be alert to deals before then. Then you would have time to score a deal, but on the other hand you might not get the maximum life from your possession.
Another thing to do is to resist the temptation to look at the price history after you have bought, or conversely keep looking at deals for something you have decided to put off buying. You'll just generate regret.
