Reviews are positive, good price for a 120gb drive.

9mm thick, Sandforce controller.

edit: 240gb is also available for 109.97USD, in this case though I recommend waiting for the crucial m500 to drop to the same price.

  • I would like to buy a few of the 120GB to run OS and progs only for a few desktops and htpc… then use 3.5" HDD's for storage. So am looking for top speed read and write as opposed to anything bigger than 120GB.

    • On paper the difference aren't very big on speed for older systems. but in reality, the bigger the drive the more ram it has and it does a better job. However, if you are running Sata 3.0gb systems, you won't get the max benefit of Sata 3 speed any how, so that performance impact is none existence.

This pny drive seems to get 400 read and 300 write realistic performance, which is way better than that kingston v300 mess after the NAND switch.

I put ssd in my notebooks and old hard drives in the odd bay, works out great. But for these configurations the 256 size drive are Better off unless You know what program you are going to put in and you won't grow out of the 80 gb left in th 120, as windows and office will eat away 2x gb minimum. Ssds works at max effectiveness with atleast 1/4 empty space, hence filling it up is not recommended and for 120g, it can get filled up fast for some.

  • i wish there is a 480GB for 230 USD option
