Hoyts Rewards Membership Just $2 from Chadstone Ticketbox (Save $10) Includes Free Movie Ticket

170

This deal is only available at Hoyts Chadstone and not online as far as I know.

I used 2 of my coke rewards movie tickets for a movie at Chadstone today. At the ticket box I enquired about rewards membership and was given the membership card for $2 reduced from $12.

I was told that because Chadstone is closing for renovations on June 11th they are reducing the price.
Please note that the free ticket will need to be used within 6 months so you may have to attend a different Hoyts cinema after June 11th.

Also, you need to have a ticket or ticket stub to get this deal. 1 per person.

Good luck

I was worried Chaddy was looking a bit small, phew…

  • Also, you need to have a ticket or ticket stub to get this deal.

    just any old one?

    • They hardly looked at the ticket so I'm guessing you could use any ticket.

      • is it meant to be a specially-marked or unused ticket?

        • Just any ticket for that day. I actually used the stub after the movie.

        • for that day from the same cinema?

        • Yes

  • Last year I got the pack for free when I bought 4 tickets last year from broadway, not sure how it is now.

    • nice - must ask next time i buy for a group :)

Also 100 free points if you register the card within 48 hours. Points can be used for food, drinks and tickets.

  • can we use it at any other Hoyts? do you have to hand in your ticket stub? is there a way to register more than once?

    • +1

You can use the free ticket at at Hoyts Cinema.
I didn't need to hand in my stubs.
You can register once per person and email address so I guess you could register accounts for family members etc…

Thanks. I ended up buying six yesterday and will buy some more on the weekend.

I did not need to have a ticket stub. Just rock up and pay up $2 per membership.

Don't know why this is not tracking on the popularity stakes as it is one of the cheapest ways to see a movie in the cinema. I usually collect Coke tokens but this is significantly cheaper than buying 10 bottles of Coke or scrounging for labels through friends/family/rubbish bins (not me).

I just had to register online after I purchased the $2 membership and a few minutes after that I saw that I was given the free movie bonus.

Also, make your preferred cinema Chadstone as apparently thay are going to be having a few competitions and giveaways in the nexxt few weeks before the closure.

Hopefully you all registered Chadstone as your preferred cinema as I just received an email to all my made up accounts giving me two free movies as a farewell gift. Here is the email:

"HOYTS Chadstone has officially closed in order to undertake its state of the art expansion.

Never fear….. we will be returning bigger and better than ever!

To say thank you for your ongoing loyalty we have added two FREE* 2D General Admission tickets to your HOYTS Rewards account.

Log into your account now to book your tickets at nearby HOYTS Cinemas such as Melbourne Central, Victoria Gardens or Forest Hill.

Stay tuned for ongoing offers and information.

      The HOYTS Rewards Team"

You had to have opted to turn on your email notifications to get this offer though.

      • I had the e-mail too, but only for one of two accounts I'd registered. Still it makes the deal extra sweet, gonna shout a mate to Transformers.

Best deal for movies to date!

      • Hopefully you all registered Chadstone as your preferred cinema

still haven't registered any of mine :(

  • Guys, you sure they will give you more then one at a time? I can grab 10 at once?

    • yes - i bought ten yesterday - cheapest non-free tickets since https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117233 :)

      • Me too, got 10 at once no problem. $20 for 10 movie tickets used with in 6 months isnt too bad :)

        • Apparently, they have changed the rule. Today I went, and they would only allow two at once. The guy even said a person is allowed two per day. As long as you are not recognised, I suppose you can go back and get another two.

  • I have a few questions, will appreciate any answers.
Suppose I front up, get the membership, register online. Can one use this ticket almost immediately (within 1-2 hours) to watch a movie?

Does one have to redeem the ticket online after that? Or can one go straight to the ticket booth and exchange for a ticket?

    Many thanks in advance.

The free ticket will be credited to your rewards card within minutes of registering. You don't need to redeem the ticket online just scan the rewards card at the ticket booth.

  • So far have purchased 24 memberships for myself. The most recent being 10 from one person and 2 via my wife. She was supposed to get 10 but was told she couldn't. Funny as the person next to that staff member was just selling me my 10 memberships.

As an FYI, you have 6 months from the time you purchase the memberships. I was hoping delay activating the final 12 tickets to 'extend' the 6 months but according to one of the staff members we talked to it was from initial purchase ($2). That being said, I'm probably going to delay the remaining 12 for a few more months anyway to see if this is not actually the case.

    • well done, i have been twice and was only given 2 each time :(

      • +2

Every other time was 2 then 2 then 2….

Basically buy two when getting the tickets, buy two when we rock up to the cinema to see the movie (as we bought tickets beforehand) and then buy two after the movie.

Have cash to make the micro transactions easier on the staff.

Thanks OP! You've saved me quite a bucks today! Kids loved the How To Train Your Dragon 2 advance screening :) It was easy to purchase (from the express lane), easy to sign up (although you have to provide a lot of personal info to the online form), and the 'free' movie credit is applied almost instantly! The money saved was used to purchase a Lindt voucher from Groupon… Oh well, doing my bit for the economy!! ;P
