Is this tablet ok for me?

I'm looking for a cheap tablet just for internet browsing/to load my recipes onto, I've seen this tablet from Aliexpress, would it be ok just for that?

  • You would be far, far better off with a 1st generation Nexus 7.

The tablets you have suggested are incredibly cheap and nasty, and painfully slow even for basic tasks like internet browsing.

  • I assume this is your first tablet? I would get a better one. You say you only need it for basic things like browsing internet and reading receipts, but once you get your hands on the tablet you will explore other things. Like trying out new apps, new games, tweaking the tablet.

  • Thanks for the replies. Yes this would be my first tablet - I've got a laptop which I use for everything else but don't want to risk wrecking it in the kitchen. I'm not really interested in games etc and wouldn't know how to tweak the tablet if I tried!

    • Even if you don't use it for anything else I'd buy something better. I bought a cheap Asus one $120 for my girlfriend, exact same use as you want. And it didn't get used after the first few weeks because it was painfully slow even for Web browsing.

  • I've had a cheap android tablet before. I've your OK with a poor user interface, occasional crashing and using a USA adapter for the power supply then it will do.

  • This is another option.

I haven't had experience with it, but the specs look better.

Edit: Ah sorry, looks like banggood is out of stock.

  • +1

even a pendo pad on special would be better - only so that you can throw it back when it breaks within first 12 months.
no such possibility with Aliexpress (economically, that is)
