Also, laptop is quite fragile, do you really want to risk it?
Yes thats one of my concern ,they do have a shipping inssurance.
What about if you pay approximately 850 dollars for it. I am on the fence about the same thing. I did it 7 years ago with a Sony laptop & it worked beautifully for the past 7 years without a single problem.
Don't unless it's a cheap one like a Chromebook.
I tried it 5 years ago. I stacked a few Dell coupons and got it to $992 from about $1500(including shipping) and planned to use Shipit.to but becuase i was stupidly trying to find even better coupons to drop the price, one of the larger discounts expired and I couldn't do it. I would've had not hesitation in doing it though. Just get insurance.
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/y-series/y510p/ this is the laptop that I want to buy .
lenovo offers international warranty but AU isnt in the list -.-
Counterpain, I was looking at the same laptop, a friend of mine got it and it looks gooood
no, but beware you will be paying 10% gst and 5% import duty for an import for a product value exceeding $1000AUD. shipping not included
edit: so typically, it's not worth it. also beware of no warranty or return to country for warranty claim (your expense)
