Hey guys,
I want two cheap 2TB external USB HDDs which I can put in RAID. Will be used as network drive.
Cheers!

I suspect OP is planning to butcher two USB 2TB desktop units, remove the hard drives and fit those into his planned RAID assembly.
Depending on the form factor the OP is looking at… but aren't internal HDD the same price if not slightly cheaper then external HDD?
You're looking at around $99 per 2TB internal HDD vs. $119 per 2TB external HDD (3.5") from the same dealer (PCCG), I'm sure they're cheaper places to buy these but the price should be around there.
Dismantling the external drive and voiding the warranty is a waste
The internal model are more reliable,
The external usually dont make the grade for 8x5 operation or the 7200rpm required to pass
they are slowed and dumped in externals.
I got a WD black in 2TB External once, hot as a oven was a rare fully functional 7200rpm
But had a few stinker Green ones that dies within months in a PC
Yup 100% agree, the price is also cheaper on the internals
@carlb: RAID (originally redundant array of inexpensive disks; now commonly redundant array of independent disks) is a data storage virtualization technology that combines multiple disk drive components into a logical unit for the purposes of data redundancy and performance improvement. (from wiki)
If you're insinuating that I am an idiot, it's unhelpful. Otherwise, thank you for your concern. Have been running two external USB HDDs in RAID for several years now via linux, which seems to work a little better than the Windows equivalent.
I was simply asking if anyone knows of any deals on two external USB HDDs, which I will use in RAID. We don't worry about the RAID part, I will take care of that.
@Others: Not looking for internal HDDs. The HDDs need to be externally powered and connected via USB to the eee. Unless there is some ultra cheap way of externalising internal HDDs and converting their connection to USB, I'm really not interested.
Sorry my OP lacked explanation regarding the setup. I just need two external 2TB USB HDDs and am looking for deals. The RAID part was really irrelevant.
External USB as RAID?
Are you sure you know what RAID is?
What is you objective to determine what is correct product for the need
USB is not exactly a stable means of using RAID
