    What kind of features does this provide for Aussies? Because we don't have Hulu etc.

      I'm an Aussie, I have hulu and netflix, as does my friends/some family.. we use a vpn to get around it ;) it's a bit of a grey area legally but so far I haven't heard of anyone having issues.

      My friend uses this to play netflix and hulu and he absolutely loves it, much better to apple tv in his opinion.

      I don't know anything really about Roku or this particular model, or whether it can be used in Australia. But I do know that at least one type of roku can be used as my friend successfully set it up.

    My understanding is that a recent firmware update hardcodes DNS for the Roku, so only VPNs will work to get around geo-blocking (e.g. DNS proxies like Unblock-US won't work).
