reasonable price, but not a 'bargain'. Bunnings have McCulloch 36cc 40cm for $220 and Mitre10 have Poulan 38cc 40cm for $249.
add freight of $24 to $59 to the $199 and you're in the same ball park as the big retailers.

edit - beaten by 11 seconds! further 10% makes it a slightly better proposition.

  • Battler,

What model is the Bunnings one? - I would like to check it out.

As for Poulan - not comparing like with like….

And if you DONT have a Bunnings close - we deliver :)

    Battler,

Fistly - Thanks for the link.

After a few calls to McCulloch - I can confrim that you are not comparing like with like.

We are offering the "Pro Mac" series - as opposed to the entry level one being offered in Bunnings.

The difference is in the RRP for starters. - The Bunnings special was offered at $299 - ours $499.

There is not one interchangable part between the 2 - Yes even the chain is different, along with a higher spec motor and clutch unit amongst others

    I hope this helps.

    ODS.

Not a bad deal at all. But for myself personally, I'll always be a Stihl man. But what ever you do don't buy a Talon. Cheap and nasty rubbish as quoted buy a Bunnings employee.

  • Good bargain.

I will need a chainsaw in the future but not right now. Shame. Good price though.

  • Okay you got me… 30 minutes to go. I bought one :)

I sorta need one, sorta don't.
It'll make some outdoor work easier which is currently dealt with hand saws. Never actually used a chainsaw before, hopefully this is a good one to learn on :)

  • The Bunnings ones are made in China, are these also?

    • Come on, what isn't made in China these days?

  • Damn, probably could have done with a chainsaw too but didnt see the deal in time (worked nights last night). Its still showing as $199 in link but when u put it in shopping cart it goes up to $249 and not sure if the special discount for us will still work either…oh well….ill keep looking.

  • Dopey :)

Send me an email @ [email protected] and i will do you the deal for $199.00 :) and will let you activate the OZBARGIAN coupon as well.

Tomorrow is another good one - Stay tuned…. :)
