I have some items I'd like to purchase and I'd love it if somebody did the hard work for me and found the cheapest places to buy them. Are there people who are willing to do this? Can this be a regular part of the site?
For example, I'm in the market for a DS Lite and a low end but decent graphics tablet.
I know about staticice, ausprices, etc, so I'm talking about sources other than those.

mrgp — it is actually not a graphics tablet. A nice gadget nevertheless, but usually graphics tables should at least have pressure sensors and can be used for more than taking notes.
I actually bought a tablet a while ago from Zazz (here it is]. Not too bad with 1024 level of pressure sensitivity. A bit small though so can only trace small sketches.
oh, i presumed that "Works as a Graphics Tablet" means that it can be used as a graphics tablet.
You are thinking of a broker, like a car broken who ring up different places to find the cheapest deals for you?
I think it works well for cars worth thousands of dollars, but maybe not DS Lite :)
Also this site is so far very much consumer driven, i.e. shoppers posting their deals. Maybe the next steps will involve getting the merchants and retailers to come in and give us good discount :)
