Free $50 Deposit When You Open a NAB Smart Junior Saver Account - under 18 only

312

The current issue of Money magazine includes a voucher for a $50 deposit when you open a Junior Saver account at NAB.

I'm assuming an original voucher is required…not a photocopy. :)
EDIT: Photocopies can apparently be used!

Here's the info on the NAB Junior Saver account:

NAB Smart Junior Saver is only available to children aged under 18 years old

Mod - edited title and description.

  • Should probably be noted you need to be under 18.

Added the link for the account info.

  • so how does this work? is there a coupon inside the magazine? Thinking about making an account (although in reality it would only be like 43 bucks cause the magazine costs 7)

    • Yep, added that to the description - I'm guessing an original voucher is required, not a photocopy.

How about 5 years old? (for my nephew)

Can't see a minimum age in the link. Get an account for him…then take the $50. :D

I think Ill make an account and transfer the money to my main account on combank.

  • What page is the voucher on?

Last or second last I think (don't have it in front of me right now).

You need the original, photocopies are no good - except…
if you have more than one under 18 in one family, you can apparently use photocopies to open an account for each of them (this is written on the page with the voucher).

Think about it…there's no fees while the account holder is under 18.

Why post when you don't understand the deal? 'Lazy' is Tigerman :D

    • lol, the point of junior accounts is that they're free during school years, then you can move on to a free account during uni years

maybe Tigerman didn't know that, or can't read yet.

    Hi,
Yes, on page 106, last page. I bought the mag today ($6.95) and used 1 x original and 3 photocopies to open accounts for my 4 kids, all got $50 in their account and all kids need to show 100 points to open account. I just used medicare card and passport was enough for 100 points. Each account took about 10 mins to open and they also each get a free money box. So 40 mins of my time and the cost of a $6.95 mag for a $200 return, not a bad hours work. Anyone under 18 years can get the NAB Smart Junior Saver Account. Valid from July 1st to August 31st, 2009. The Money mag has the word "SLASH" on the front cover, July 2009 issue 114.
    Thanks for this offer

  • Hey I checked the NAB Website and there are no annual fees or anything to open a Junior Saver Account right?

    • Correct…until the account holder turns 18.

  • Anyone know where I can buy the mag?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure newsagents sell them. Can anyone confirm?

    • Money magazine is available nationally at newsagents, some Woolworths and petrol stations etc. Its not hard to find.

  • NAB has their own documents with terms and conditions and they won't give you a copy, so i think it is a kind of top secret files.
To get access to his account your kid should be "able to sign their signature consistently".
The way they interpreted it in the branch I've visited is a kid should sign TEN times and ALL the signatures should be the same. I doubt that more than 50% of adults can do such a trick (at least one of your signatures will look slightly different).
Also they want your kid would "FULLY understand terms and conditions of the account". Taking into account that their consultants do not quite understand it and it takes them literally hours (I've spent 1.5 hours today trying to set up an account) to figure out what they are, I can say that 99% of adults do not meet this requirement.

I would vote negative ten times, if I could, but I can't even do it once as the thread seems to be locked.

You voted positive previously so the most you can do is revoke your vote.
