Ninja Master Prep Professional WAS $148 NOW $99 at BIGW [in Store Only]

40

I've been watching those annoying infomercials on late night TV the last few years and decided to bite the bullet and check it out. Think this is a good price for what it does and worth sharing. Not sure when this sale will end.

Cheapest I can find online is $135 + $20 postage on eBay.

Those who are iffy about buying something they see on TV check out the reviews on Amazon and Walmart

Also saw the Soup Mate Pro for $198 down from $219

  • Thank you Mr Miyagi

Edit: Mr Miyagi is an ozbargainer

Daniel: "Hey, what kind of belt do you have?"
Miyagi: "Canvas. JCPenney $3.98. You like"

  • Note that this is NOT the same as the ones shown on tv (eg the extra channel)
This might be an older or different model of the ninja but the ones on tv is the ninja mega kitchen (vs prep)

    • That one is the bigger system. This one is still current

  • Does anybody know if this one juices as well? I noticed that Woolworths in Warwick WA has it for $99 also at the moment. I am also watching out for the Magic Bullet to drop in price as this also juices, it is normally $120.

    • Just took it out of the box and chopped some veggies and made fresh watermelon with crushed ice, both came out really well. I recommend this.

    • If you want to get a magic bullet type, you should get the nutribullet - it has a more powerful motor and is the updated version of the magic bullet but is more expensive.

Edit: in reply to your question it is more like a blender. A juicer will separate the juice from the pulp. This just blends it all together

    • It doesn't extract juice, it pulverises it. You need to add water or ice. Works well if you put ice and oranges; the taste is more dilute than orange juice you buy, but not bad tasting. I tried with carrots and ice, and couldn't get a good consistency.

Also, please note that this model differs from the commercials. The one on the ads has a stronger motor and more accessories. Still, I have this model and really like it. It crushes ice just as well as the TV one.

  • Thanks Tlai.

  • Can't find it online. Which store was it in? Will I need to call my local store on the off chance they have one?

    • In store only. I saw this at Canelands in Mackay but I think it is nationwide. Also I've just updated the title.

Just called East Gardens and they located one and put aside for me. Looking forward to mincing lots of meat fast. Much obliged, thanks.

        • Let us know how it handles mincing meat.

        • Yep, will do. FYI, I mince meat to the point of puree for beef jerky and use a cheap $15 food processor effectively but had to try a few before finding one that worked well and I am hope using a bigger device/bowl will speed up the process.

        • Tried it last night and the short answer is that it is OK at mincing meat but I am going to try to return it anyway but that's just me, YMMV. Long answer/review follows.

I only used the large triple blade 1.5L pitcher on beef and it works well to roughly mince a large quantity of meat in seconds however I want/need mine chopped finer and the bottom does get there but the top does not, so due to this slightly uneven grade distribution, I had to persist until the bottom was puree/paste to get a useful mix/medium consistency.

I did not try any other produce or feature - the 1.2L double blade pitcher might work better for my very specific needs but my simple $15 0.6L single blade food processor actually circulates the meat around better and produces more even results.

The product itself seems powerful and looks like it will perform well for a variety of tasks if you do not already have a food processor and I might have wanted to keep it if we did not already have powerful blender with a glass pitcher capable of crushing ice at home.

Not sure if you will be able to return it, no matter how well you cleaned it and brand new it looks. I tried to do the same with a juicer and they wouldn't accept it because it was open and for "hygiene" purposes they wouldn't accept it.

        • Yeah, they were a little resistant but I must have got lucky because they accepted it yesterday. It was the very next day following purchase and when asked why I said "it does not mince meat very well" so was essentially not satisfied.

  • This item occasionally drops to $99. This isn't the first time that its happened

    • That one is the standard system. The professional uses triple blades, comes with an extra pitcher and has a more powerful motor.

The standard only uses dual blades and the Nicer Dicer included in the combo isn't worth compensating for the same price as the Professional, as it can be picked up for under $15 on eBay.

  • I've got this from buy 1 get 1 free on the TV ads last year.
    that was about $70 each.
You may check the ads on TV again..?

  • In Harris Scarfe too. Can't remember the price
