Heater and house heating

Hi all

Looking for some advice for a reasonable decent good efficient heater. There is no gas at my place. What would be recommended?

Seal all draught spots first…
R/C aircon.. & put on warm clothes.. :-)

  The warm clothes is no problem but am looking for a heater lol… I have an ac but some reason it doesn't get warm :(

    You would be surprised how many get around in shorts and t shirt with heaters running on max… :-(
    
    BTW… Good window coverings help a lot also especially if there are only vertical blinds.
    
    As for cheap heating… wood fire… needs fireplace of course lol… small gas heater and gas bottle?…. otherwise an electric heater and take a valium before reading the bill :-)
    
    Your ac is "reverse cycle" type? Sometimes the reversing valve can stick?

we have a nobo heating is good for a large house supposedly cost efficient but will now when we get the power bill
