    Terraria 1.2.4 changelog

In celebration of the update and the upcoming 3 year anniversary of Terraria we will be putting the game on sale for 75% off starting Friday and ending Sunday.

Great game, spent probably 20 hours straight in one session after I got it. Who would have thought 2D digging could be so much fun :)

    • Tarn Adams.

      (REALLY OBSCURE GAMING REFERENCE ALERT!)

  • one of the best games you can get well worth it

wouldn't say that, good game but not one of the best.

Falls off pretty hard when you realize there's nothing else to do.

      • It's not a game with tons of end-game stuff to continually do (unless you like building), I've certainly had some big breaks between patches, but I would say that there is a surprising about of content now.

There are about 30 sets of armor to (mostly) craft, hundreds of weapons. There are 7 normal bosses, 6 more when you enter hardmode, 5 more events + bosses. And 1.2.4 added another hardmode boss.

I would say it's amazing about of content for $2.50

  • Thank you great deal

I spent a few hours initially and thought it was just a Minecraft clone. Then after hearing about Pixel Piracy and stumbling upon a Terraria wiki I realised how much more depth Terraria had, so I gave it another try and have logged 170hrs so far.

    Awesome game.

Terraria has more depth than Mincraft, odd when Terraria lacks the 3rd dimension ;)

  • Thanks OP picked it up today

  • Minecraft in Vanilla is good,
but when you add mods into it, well then it becomes a whole new meaning of life.
    yes i am addicted :)

  • do i need a controller to play this or keyboard/mouse combo is fine?

    • keyboard mouse is fine.

      • Preferred, actually.

Terraria has always been on sale on and off for $2.50. If you guys like it, I would suggest to try Starbound.

    • +1

Starbound looks remarkably similar to terraria, I even thought it was the same developer but apparently they are different. $1.5 million and over $2 million in preorders, I imagine there will be a lot of new content rolling out. Thanks for the recommend, i'll probably check it out after I've play a bit of Terraria. The neg reviews from 2-3 months back saying the game has no soul but I guess that would have changed by now.

      • Those neg reviews aren't entirely wrong, even now. Starbound has the potential to be an amazing game (maybe at some point better than Terraria) however the game is in Early Access, the updates have been few and far between, but at least they have been open about the direction they are headaing.

You also are not far off with the same developer. Tiy was the lead sprite artist for Terraria originally, then went on to make his own game.

I have both and enjoyed both. Starbound might be a favourite down the line, but until it fleshes out what it has, it will always second best to Terraria.

starbound is quite shit to be honest no content I got it when it first had access regret much.

    • Terraria is a $2.50 game that's easily worth $15-20. Starbound is a $15 that is easily worth $2.50

  • Thanks op, kids will be very happy
