Saw this on Big W, $39 for Mountain Bike + Delivery. Would anyone in MELBOURNE near BALWYN want to buy together and share postage cost?? Will cost about $50 for buying 2-3 together with Capped Postage.

  To be honest, I'd have a look at the Diamondback Bronco 26"

  It is $67 rather than $39 - but it is a hell of lot better bike.

  For a BIG W bike it isn't bad, and it is a lot better than the Repco.

  I've seen them both at Macquarie Centre BIG W, North Ryde NSW.

  The Bronco online is blue - it looks better in red.

  Don't buy cheap bikes from BigW. We did. $99 Dunlop. Rode it three times - short distance. Rode up a very slight incline, pedals started spinning until they were completely freewheeling. Tear cluster had stripped the thread right off the hub. Now we have a new bike in the garage, waiting for the next garbage cleanup, in the hope of finding a 26" rear alloy rim to replace the JUNK. The company has in its warranty booklet: "30 days warranty on wheels." Yeah right - I know why too.

  all discounted bikes gone from their web site. I was looking at Diamondback Bronco for $39 (from $160)it was out of stock last night and it disappeared this morning from their web site.

  pretty happy about my cheap bike from BigW. i never maintained the bike, just leave it in the garage when it is not used.

  certainly, i am

  Not overweight
  Not weigh a ton
  Not ride it for 20km everyday
  NOT expecting same quality and workmanship of a bike costing hundreds/thousands dollar from this cheap one.

  in short, i am happy about the bike for the money i paid.

    So were we until we found out the price for a new wheel. May as well have bought a better one to begin with and not had a stripped hub. Make sure you get off and walk up hills and pedal like a geriatric along the flat may even be advisable. ;-p…
