New phone <$400/mth or Plan <$40/mth

Hi looking for a new phone under $400 probably an android unless I can be convinced otherwise. Was thinking about getting the nexus 5 unless there are any great phones/plans I should jump on willing to up to $40/mth on a plan (including phone).

    How patient are you? the new OnePlus One looks pretty good value at US$299 for 16gb and US$349 64gb. The key issue there is that they're aren't widely available yet. If you have a few months up your sleeve then you might be ok. This phone is pretty similarly specced to the Note 3, but 1/4 to 1/3 of the price.

    LG G2. ~$450-500.

    then get TeleChoice Kogan mobile plans for $20-25 on a 12-months contract.

    I've got a Nexus 5, would definitely recommend! Fits in your hand nicely, performs well and is just all round great.
