As the title says… haven't seen the price for Dead Island Riptide this low thus far.
Also note that its the complete pack so all DLCs are included.. (Fashion and Survivor DLCs).
USD5 = AUD5.40 according to Google.
As far as I know, Riptide is only available on PC via Steam. The page confirms that this a Steam version as it says it runs under the Steamworks DRM.
I just started playing Dead Island (1st one) and its running flawlessly on Win 8.1. Didn't have to do anything.

Yep. Playing just fine on win 8.1 pro via Steam and using a xbox 360 controller.
Just recently finished Riptide on Win 7 (Nvidia gpu). Flawless performance (after the first wasn't so good for me).

Apparently the second hasn't fixed any of the issues that people complained about in the first, like the tired fetch quests, too much loot & inventory management, too many zombies that are overpowered and clunky movement.
Is the first a better game?
I've never played the second one, but I own the first one and from what you've described, that's exactly what the first one is.
I've only put 6 hours into it, but it became too repetitive, the entire game just boils down to going from A to B and either:
-kill all zombies
-get this and come back
I didn't find any overpowered enemies. No idea who said that.
Again, movement was fine for me. Maybe it's just a love it or hate it game but I loved it.
Expired? Says $19.99 for me.
Is it a steam key and will it work on win7/8/8.1
I know that the first dead island had issues loading on win8 and the developers basically said "too bad, you already gave us your money. better luck next time"
