i went to the last one with iphones/ipads/notebooks, one word, OVERPRICED! real waste of time, people with no idea pushing up to ridiculous bidding amounts, people in the know shaking their heads in disbelief…

    • So it's like eBay, but you can tell the other bidders what you think? :)

oh the things i'd say… will get me charged with disorderly conduct.

        • Your link is for South Australian legislation! This is Sydney :-)

        • ah of course completely slipped my mind, being from SA and all. Let's see… in this hypothetical situation Google tells me I can be charged with:

          Offensive conduct!
          Offensive language!

          Fun!

        • See, life is much better in NSW! All you need is a reasonable excuse. Someone paying $500 + auction fees for an iPhone 4 that's probably been blacklisted is a reasonable excuse for uttering an expletive. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if they secretly had some people that drives the price up intentionally

  • why those people not checking gumtree ebay first? or maybe for the sake of fun bidding and winning feel

    Plasma & Rear Projection TVs

Really? People leave these behind on trains? Too heavy to carry, gave up, went home for beers?

There was a woman in melbourne that got busted shoplifting because she stole so much, she tried to get on the train with a shopping trolley, the transit cops asked her for receipts and she couldn't provide it. Stranger things do happen on public transport …

Its hard to believe people would like just not report loosing iphones, ipads, ipods, xboxs, a cartier bangle, strollers, laptops, tabs, musical instruments etc etc.
And its ironic that if people have been honest and returned the items to lost and found yet the Rail authorities have failed to match them with their owners or are just lazy.
With all the data in the hard drives of those laptops, digital cams, camcorders etc wonder if they securely destroy all the data as the laptops are sold without their hdds..
Reckon some stuff might be from some of their other auctions which didnt sell and got offloaded to this one.
Also wouldnt the iphones, ipads and other phones have supposedly been locked by their owners through their carriers.

Good chance that the iOS devices have been locked through Find My iPhone.

    • Just a heads up, apple will refuse to unlock it

first ipad mini 3g 64gb went for $600.
    first nexus 7 32gb went for $350.

i left after the nexus 7 went for that price.
thats double what was on ozbargain this week.
them prices are for devices that in apples product case are linked with other peoples apple account and are useless other then parts.
and could not even work at all.

And how did the Tech Heads in the crowd react to these prices? Mass walk out? Shouts of "idiots"? Cries of laughter? Tears hit the auction floor?
