In NSW - We've been on the M7 and M5 twice (return trips) this year without any electronic gizmo and just paying later, but I suspect we're getting ripped off (admin fees etc) doing it this way so we'd like to buy one which is best suited for someone using these toll roads maybe 2-3 times a year.
I've done some research and only gotten more confused.

These guys are who i use for the M5. they give you a statement that automatically separates the M5 trips eligible for the cashback.
For infrequent use, you could simply grab their:

In 2001 my wife and I crossed Sydney Harbour Bridge and followed a sign saying E-Way to discover we should not have, and received a fine several days later. I phoned the manager and explained the sign said nothing more than E-Way and E has meant East on maps and signs for a thousand years. He explained they were unable to call it E-Toll for copyright reasons and there was no space for Electronic. He told me to tear up the fine.
