$12 "Twin Pack 2GB SD cards (2x 2GB)" from TARGET

390

In the catalogue they are $22 for the twin pack (save $27.99). But instore the sign says $12 for twin pack and this is what it scans as through the register!!! Great deal, cheaper than ebay! (find me a 2GB SD $6/card shipped link, lol). Also, don't have to wait for item to get to you from HK.

Please see attached receipt for proof.

The following on page 12 is the original ad for $22.

I assume that the deal will expire at the end of the catalogue.

    MPM SD Cards

Twin pack. 2GB. This offer not available at Target Country stores unless stated otherwise."

Gets a positive from me (if $12) as not all devices likes SDHC cards (thats for the people who say to buy a 4GB cheaper (all the 4GB SD cards I have brought have been SDHC)). The text doesn't state SDHC nor does it appear in the pictures of the cards. Just says 60X by mpm.

Just looked up that 60x is Class 2 - still good deal though.
4gb cards are $22 so this is still a lot cheaper and having 2 cards means you can have some photos on one at home while the other one is in the camera, if you lose the camera, still got the old pics.

The reason for a larger card size is for video recording, where speed is important too.

@$6 its definitely cheap enough to pass to family/friends and not really get bummed if they lose it.

Orange IT has been selling $4.99 2GB Transcend SD cards for at least 8 months.

Is this what you mean? and you're just mispell $8.25?!?

MSY has Kingston for $8, so I guess the $6 each is in the ballpark of where the cheap IT stores are, but brilliant for the everyday shopper who just would never walk into MSY!

          • +3

@kojack: Then there is the problem of MSY having the item in stock that you wish to buy (maybe after lining up for 20 minutes to be told that they don't have it).

I wouldn't buy at MSY even if they were $2 cheaper as they disappoint me in the retail experience (of actually getting what I want and not wasting so much of my life trying to get it then not).

            • +1

@Zero Sydney: exactly - $2 may not sound like a lot but thats 33% discount. Plus you have instant refunds if you change your mind.

              — msy isnt that bad as thats why so many shop there; a discount of 5-10% on a 1k computer is usually too good to pass up for most people

          • @kojack: It's still $4.99 posted on the front door when I walked passed today.

    • You're right, and Transcend is a good brand. But hey, if you couldn't be bothered lining up at one of these shops or don't have one in the vicinity, then the Target deal is a good one.

BTW - I bought a few 2GB Sony USB sticks from Woolworths 4 months ago for $4.78 ea.
